St. Paris--Mrs. Helen R Barger,82, of the Champaign County Nursing Home, died a
at 5:30 pm Wednesday in Urbana Mercy Hospital, where she had been a patient for o
one week.  She was in failing health the past three years.
Born in Champaign County on Jan. 29 1898, Mrs. Barger was a daughter of Arthur 
and Susan Norman McBeth.  A former school teacher who taught in many area s
schools, she was a member of the Covenant Lutheran Church at St. Paris.
Survivors include her husband, Walter, also a Champaign County Nursing Home 
resident, whom she married June 20, 1927; one son Alan Barger of St. Paris, one 
daughter, Mrs. Harold (Sue) Friend of Troy, one sister, Mrs. Norma Pauly of St. 
Paris; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  One sister, Bertha McBeth
McBeth, is deceased.
Services will be conducted at 1:30 pm Saturday at the Richeson-Wickham & Atkins 
Funeral Home in St. Paris with the Rev. Frank Gross officiating.  Burial will 
be in Spring Grove Cemetery.
