James "Jim" Leroy Bevens Jr., 43, of Conover, joined God on Monday, Aug. 24, 
2009, in his residence.
Jim was born June 3, 1966, at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Fairborn, a son 
of James Leroy I Sr. and Karla (Gilley) Bevens, who survive in London. He also 
is survived by his special friend, Henrietta Spaugy of Conover; his four 
children, Christina Bevens of Springhills, Jamie (Scott) I Pope of West 
Liberty, Ryan Bevens of Conover and Michele DeHart (David Hopper) of 
Springhills. He was a loving papa to five grandchildren, Lillian Hall of 
Springhills, Cameron and Ashlyn Pope of West Liberty and Luke and Caitlyn 
DeHart of Springhills. Other survivors include two brothers, Bob (Cindy) 
Bevens of Mt. Sterling and Tony (Amy) Bevens of London and the mother of his 
children, Tangeala Bevens of Springhills.
Jim was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Bula "Boots" Slagle.
Jim was a 1984 graduate of Madison Plains High School, and worked as a truck 
driver for Sidney Transportation Services. He was a member of the Troy Fish 
and Game, Troy AMVETS Post 88 and the Piqua Eagles.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Westville Renewed 
Strength Church, 4194 W. U.S. 36, Westville, with the Rev. Mark Hackworth 
presiding. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery, North State Route 235, 
Conover
