Betty Eileen Lucas Bodey, of Urbana, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013, in 
Mercy McAuley Center.
She was born February 17, 1925, in Urbana, OH, to Ervin Lucas and Sylvia 
(Jenkins) Steinberger. Betty was a graduate of Urbana High School and was 
employed by Eavey’s Grocery and retired from Grimes Manufacturing. She was a 
member of the Messiah Lutheran Church.
She married Leonard Bodey on June 16, 1943. They had four sons: Gary (Pat) 
Bodey, Larry (Dixie) Bodey, David Bodey and Mike (deceased) (Kathy) Bodey; 
seven grandchildren, Scott (Cathy) Bodey, Mark (Melissa) Bodey, Greg (Wende) 
Bodey, Deb (Jeff) Hogue, Shelly (Clinton) Murray, Toni (Mike) Mossbarger and 
Shannan (Kevin) Thompson; 15 great-grandchildren, C.J., Katie, Noah, Taylor, 
Michelle, Doug, Luke, Josh, Dalton, Landon, Aubrey, Luke, Megan, Glenna and 
Marley; three great-great-grandchildren, Carmyne, Brian and Kaiden; one niece, 
Bev (Gene) Zoll; and two great-nieces, Stephanie and Natalie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mike; daughter-in-law, Peggy; 
one great-great-grandson; and a sister-in-law, Cenie (Jesse) Hartman.
The family will receive friends at noon on Monday, July 1, 2013, in the WALTER 
& SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main St., Urbana, where a funeral service will be 
held at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Linda Sprick-Kruse and the Rev. Nancy Hardin 
officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery.
