He had suffered a stroke a month ago. Mr. BOTKIN, a retired farmer, was born in Clark County, March 1, 1892, a son of Leedom and Sarah (Bruner) Botkin. A member of the Newson Chapel Church, he had served as sexton of the Newson Chapel Cemetery for more than 30 years. He was married Dec. 10, 1919, to Mamie BEEK, who survives. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Mrs. Clarabell Kerns and three grand-children, Cynthia, Cheryl and Jane KERNS, all of Springfield; two brothers, Eldon of North Hampton and Homer of East Liberty, Route 1; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys HOPKINS of Ocean City, N. J., and Mrs. May HECK of New Carlisle, Route 2. The body was taken to the Richison-Wickham funeral home, St. Paris, where friends may call after 7 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services will be held in the Newson Chapel Church at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Howard Gosnell, pastor, officiating.
