Brecount, 74, of St. Paris, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at 4:55 a.m. in Hospice of Dayton. She was bom in Piqua, on Oct. 8, 1928, the daughter of the late Melville Miron and Harriet (Francis) Mills. Ms. Brecount had attended Johnson-St. Paris schools, was formerly employed by the Val Decker Packing Co. in Piqua, and was a member of the Pythian Sisters Jewel Temple No. 307 of St. Paris. Survivors include three daughters, Susan (Kenneth) Donovan of Casstown, Darlene (Peter) Booher of Troy and Denise (Harry) Persinger of St. Paris; one granddaughter, Helen Persinger of St. Paris; and one brother, Roger (Donna) Mills of West Milton. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Junior" Brecount, who she married on July 4,1947 and who passed away on Dec. 17, 1975; a son, Dwain Brecount, who passed away on Oct. 22,1984; two brothers, Tom and Richard Mills; and a sister, Dolores Johnson. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 27, at 10:30 a.m. in the Richeson-Wickham and Atkins Funeral Home, St. Paris, with Harry Persinger Sr. officiating. Burial will take place in Spring Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Aug. 26, from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
