Georgia R.A. Brown, 78, of St. Paris, passed away at 12:24 p.m. Monday, Jan. 
7, 2008, in the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. She was born Dec. 24,1929, 
in Troy, the daughter of the late Joseph and Georgia (Argabright)Hobbs. She 
married Marvin "Butch" Brown on Sept. 3,1948, and he preceded her in death 
Oct. 17, 2005.
Georgia is survived by four daughters and a son-in-law, Jane Stewart of St. 
Paris, Chris and Ron Purk of St. Paris, Tin! Watkins of Quincy, and Angie 
Brown of St. Paris; eight grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-
great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include a half-sister, Gertie Ann; 
two step sisters, Mary Jean and Sharon; and a stepbrother, Bill.
In addition to her parents and husband, Georgia was preceded in death by a 
son, Butchie Brown; granddaughter, Renaie Krystene Purk; son-in-law, Karl 
Stewart; and a son-in-law, Donald Watkins.
Georgia retired in 1993, from Beech Manufacturing in St. Paris.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of services at noon 
Thursday in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street, St. 
Paris. The Rev. Jim Fannin will preside. Burial will follow in Evergreen 
Cemetery, St. Paris.
Pallbearers will be Bob Purk, Tim Purk, Lee Purk, Brandon Purk, Tommy Goings, 
Koddy Goings, and Butch Forrest.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lawnview Industries, 1250 E. U.S. 36, 
Urbana, OH 43078
