Vernon Funeral HOme
Ercel L. (Wise) Burnside Bair, 96, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2011 
in Mercy McAuley Center, Urbana, Ohio.

She was born June 21, 1915 in Marion, Ohio, the daughter of Samuel William and 
Sara Jane (Smith) Wise.
She attended Agosta School and retired from Desmond-Stephan after 52 years of 
service.

She is survived by her daughter, Jane (David) Shambaugh of Urbana; daughter-in-
law Charlotte Burnside of Sevierville, TN; her grandchildren; Linda Shambaugh, 
Dan (Tami) Shambaugh, Gary Shambaugh and friend Kathy Thompson, Sherry Dillion 
all of Urbana, Pam (Kelvin) Wilkins of Cable, Debra Hall of South Portsmouth, 
KY, Jimmy (Terri) Burnside of West Liberty, numerous great grandchildren, 
great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Herman Burnside, 
her second husband, A. J. Bair; her son, James Burnside; brother, Virgil Wise 
and her four sisters, Maude Martin, Elsie Cramer, Ferne Wetzel and Mary Hurtt.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 in the 
VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana with Pastor John Wallace officiating. 

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 
Burial will follow at Oak Dale Cemetery.
