BURROUGHS, Robert. W. age 87, of Saint Paris passed away at 12:45 a.m. on 
Sunday, May 15, 2011, in the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. Born on April 
19, 1924, in Champaign County, Jackson Twp., Bob was a son of the late William 
and Ona (Blue) Burroughs. He married June E. George on June 1, 1944 and she 
survives. Two sons also survive: Mike (Mary) Burroughs and James (Sharon) 
Burroughs both of St. Paris. Bob was a loving grandfather to five 
grandchildren: Chad (Becky) Burroughs, St. Paris; Ty Burroughs, St. Paris; 
Lori Thomas, Springfield; Andy (Angie) Burroughs, St. Paris; and Brian (Lisa) 
Burroughs, St. Paris, six great grandchildren, two step grandchildren and one 
step great grandchild. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Nancy Burroughs 
of St. Paris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two 
sisters, Lucille Grube and Marcella Allebach, and one brother, Allen 
Burroughs. Bob attended the St. Paris First Church of God, and he graduated in 
1942 from Christiansburg-Jackson School, St. Paris. He was a carpenter 
building many houses and he was engaged in farming. Funeral services will be 
held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Paris First Church of God, 122 E. 
Walnut Street, Saint Paris with Pastors Larry Messick, Richard Keeran, and 
Terry Gray presiding. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation 
will also be held in the church on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
