Rodney Callison, 61, of Rosewood, died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2011 in 
his residence. He was born November 20,1949 in Springfield, OH, a son of James 
Gerald and Esther Louise (Shaffer) Callison.
Rodney was a 1967 graduate of Graham High School, served in the US Army, was a 
member of Urbana Church of Christ in Christian Union, where he was very active 
in the music ministry. His music touched many lives. Rodney was a former 
runner, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of almost 35 years, Barbara (Blanton) Callison, 
whom he married on April 30, 1976, daughter, Beth Parke and her husband Nathan 
of St. Paris, grandchildren, Ben and Ella Parke, sisters, Sandra Massie and 
her husband Roger of St. Paris, Sue Nelson and her husband Neal of Troy, and 
Libby Wooten and her husband Britt of Springfield, brothers, Jim Callison and 
his wife Ada of Terre Haute, and Steve Callison and his wife Patty of 
Thackery, sister-in-law, Carolyn Callison of Urbana, and numerous nieces, 
nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Jerry Callison.
I The family will receive friends 4 - 8 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2011 in the 
WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL I HOME, 642 S. Main Street, Urbana. Funeral services 
will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2011, with visitation one hour 
prior, in the Urbana Church of Christ in Christian Union, 1101 N. Main Street, 
Urbana with Rev. David Murray officiating.  Burial will follow in the Terre 
Haute Cemetery
