She was born January 11, 1926 in Urbana, Ohio the daughter of Pearl A. and Hallie A. (Pullins) Ream. She was a 1944 graduate of Salem High School. Thelma was a member of the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church and a former Sunday school teacher. She loved the Ohio State Buckeyes and playing cards. She was known as MeMaw by her grandchildren and all of their friends. She is survived by her husband of 63 1/2 years, Thomas J. "John" Channell of Urbana; her daughters, Bonnie (Steve) Yurasek of Marysville and Peggy (Jim) Cushman of Mechanicsburg; her sons, Tom (Bettie) Channell of Bellefontaine, John W. Channell of Urbana and Don (Cindy) Channell of Louisville, KY; her grandchildren, Lisa (John) Yates, Leslie (Jon) Goodman, Angie (Scott) Arthur, Emily (Derek) Hess, Lori (John) Milliron, Kati Channell, Michael Channell, Bill (Mallory) Kiser, Jimmy Cushman and Donny Cushman, her great grandchildren, Joe Yates, Jeff Yates, Mason Hess, Gradyn Hess, Hallie Goodman, JR Goodman, Brielle Milliron, Isaiah Channell, Matthew Arthur, Andrew Arthur and Poppy Kiser; her brother, Melvin (Gayle) Ream of IN; her sister, Martha (Jack) Oelker of Urbana; many nieces, nephews and special friends, including, Helen Lewis and Peggy Forrest. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, George Ream and a sister, Donna Roberds. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Harley Roston officiating.
