He was born in Lima, on Aug. 20,1927, to the late Hubert Alton and Nellie Elizabeth (Hahn) Clem. Allen married Frances Bradley Donnelly on July 30,1953, and she survives. Other survivors include his son, Don Clem of Troy; two daughters and sons-in- law, Francine Alexandra and Stephen Roberts of Troy and Kelley and Joshua Turner of Washington Twp.; two granddaughters, Melissa (John) Goonan of Cambridge and Lauren Turner of Washington Twp.; and two great-grandchildren, Breanna Goonan and John Goonan Jr. Allen was preceded in death by his sister. He formerly attended the First United Methodist Church in St. Paris. Allen graduated from Johnson-St. Paris High School. He served his country as a Merchant Marine during World War II and in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Allen retired as a chef from the Helen of Troy Restaurant at the former Imperial House in Troy. There will be a funeral service held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Dale Christian officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m. Saturday (one hour prior to service). Interment will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery in St. Paris.
