Florence S. Crabtree, 89, of St. Paris, passed away at 6:49 p.m. Saturday, 
Sept. 23, 2006, in the Wellington Nursing Home in Urbana.
She was born Nov. 28, 1916, in Champaign County, the daughter of the late J.P. 
and Elizabeth Florence (Sheely) Evans. She married Alva Crabtree on Nov. 9, 
1963, and he preceded her in death.
Florence is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jay and Carolyn Evans 
and Chartes and Elizabeth Evans, all of St. Paris; and several nieces and 
nephews. She had no children.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a 
sister, Sylvia Dibert.
Florence retired in 1978, as an inspector for Plastics Research in Urbana. She 
was a member of the St. Paris First Baptist Church and Jewel Temple No. 307, 
Pythian Sisters, St. Paris.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Atkins-Shively 
Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street, St. Paris. The Rev. Clifford 
Kissinger will preside. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, St. Paris. 
Visitation for family and friends will be from noon until the time of the 
service at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Champaign 
County, P.O. Box 38125, Urbana, OH 43078. Envelopes will be available in the 
funeral home
