The torn and twisted wreckage of the Barger car was dragged more than half a mile by the train before it was halted at Baker Road. The body of Mrs. Barger was thrown out some distance away. There are no warning lights at the crossing only the standard cross arms. Authorities sad the Barger automobile was westbound at a high speed. The engineer of the 105 car freight said he was operating at 45 miles an hour. Mrs. Barger was alone in the auto. The first of two engines on the train was damaged in the collision but was able to proceed. The victim was born in St. Paris Aug 11,1932, the daughter of Stanley and Jessie Current. She was employed at the Sacke Auto Parks Co., Springfield and was a member of the Zion-Lutheran Church here. Surviving are two children, David and Diane,both at home, her father Stanley Current of Urbana;three sisters, Mrs. Louise Cumby of Ft.Worth, Tx, Mrs. Betty Payne of London and Mrs Martha Kimbler of Columbus, five half-brothers and three half-sisters. Services will be conducted in Baker Funeral Home at 2pm Wednesday by the Rev. Luther Buchholtz. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery.
