She was born in Urbana on October 14, 1952, the daughter of Grant and Agnes (Saylor) Saylor Sr. Candy was a 1970 graduate of Urbana High School, worked for 16 years at Dare Pavco and 16 years at Wendy’s of Urbana. She attended Lighthouse Tabernacle and through the years taught Sunday School, enjoyed garage sales, her animals and loved people. The last words Jaymes heard from Candy’s lips were, “Jesus please take me home!” That was so much how Candy lived her life, always giving God the Glory and praising “Jesus First” in all walks of her life. We know that today Candy’s precious soul is in Heaven with her father and mother and all the children of God. Although Candy never had children of her own, she was always a loving “mother- like” figure to all her nieces and nephews. She was always available and willing to share her time with them. Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Jaymes D. Daniels, whom she married on March 24, 1978, sisters, Connie (John) Smith of Marysville and Cathy Wells of NC, brothers, Henry (Deanna) Saylor of Urbana, Dwight Saylor of Urbana, Grant (Jean) Saylor Jr., Rick (Julie) Saylor of AL and Forrest Michael Saylor of Urbana, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, in WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main St., Urbana, and for one hour prior to the service, which will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, with Pastors Rick Clos and Robert Knox officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana.
