DANNAKER, Betty L. 88, of Urbana, formerly of Springfield, went home with the 
Lord at 1:50 PM Wednesday, January 27, 2010 in the McAuley Center. She was 
born January 11, 1922 in Champaign County, Ohio, the daughter of Harley and 
Viola (Coleman) Shafer. Mrs. Dannaker was a member of Grace United Methodist 
Church and the Home City Chapter # 258 Eastern Star where she was past Worthy 
Matron and former president of the past Worthy Matrons Club. She was a 
graduate of Salem High School (West Liberty Salem). Survivors include one son; 
Ron (Sally) Dannaker, New Paris, Ohio, one daughter; Connie (Alan) Swift, 
Virginia, four grandchildren; Robert Dannaker, Brian Dannaker, Sherry (John) 
Allin and Chris (Kerstin) Lehmkuhl, six great grandchildren, three sisters; 
Doris Short, Dorothy Black and Helen Roach all of Urbana, and several nieces 
and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; William E. Dannaker in 
2005, one sister; Opal Burris, eight brothers; Robert, Harold, Russell, 
Marion, Claude, Don, James and George Shafer and her parents. Funeral services 
will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME with 
Pastor Victoria Downing officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, 
Urbana
