She was born Sept. 1, 1922, in Romania, a daughter of the late Emmanuel and Eva Fiedler Hildebrandt. On Feb. 6, 1947, she married Otto Dappert, and he preceded her in death Aug. 21, 1995. She also was preceded in death by a daughter Anna Liza Dappert; a son, Otto Dappert Jr.; and three brothers, Arthur, Hans and Alfred Hildebrandt. Survivors include three sons, Walter Dappert of Middletown, Arthur Dappert of California and Hans Dappert of Oregon. Else was a loving grandmother of 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Ernest (Charlotte) Hildebrandt of DeGraff; and two sisters, Emma Dappert of DeGraff and Ottilie Cernyar of Xenia. She was a dedicated housewife and domestic worker for doctors and lawyers. Otto and Else came to the United States in 1956 from Schwäbish Halle, Germany, with their four children and settled in Logan County. The Rev. Robert Long of the Churches of Christ in Christian Union, Quincy Chapel, conducts a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Spring Grove Cemetery, North Heck Hill Road, St. Paris. Atkins-Shively Funeral Home in St. Paris handled the arrangements.
