(Joe) Ditmer, age 77, of Troy died on Friday, February 15, 2002 at 12:23 a.m. at the Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy. He was born in Troy on February 10, 1925, to Jesse Leo Ditmer and Emme (Saring) Ditmer Wylie. He served with the United States Army during Worl War II. He retired in 1990 from Hobart Brothers Company, Troy, where he was a member of the Hobart Brothers Milestone Club. He was a former employee of Troy Sunshade and a member of the Casstown Methodist Church. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Cox of Phoenix, Ariz. and Mrs. Eileen Whitman of Troy; two sister-in-laws, Mrs. Juanita Frank of St. Paris and Mrs. Anna Jane (Robert L.) Welty of Christiansburg and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rose Jean (Frank) Ditmer, who he married on July 28, 1951, and preceded him in death on October 14, 2000; one brother, Eugene Ditmer; one sister, Lucille Eberwein; and three nephews, Daris Cox, Leo Cox and Floyd Frank. The funeral will be on Wednesday, Feb.20, 2002 at 1 p.m. with Rev. David C. Ramming officiating at the RICHESON-WICKHAM AND ATKINS FUNERAL HOME, 216 S. Springfield St., St. Paris Military graveside services will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, St. Paris. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
