He was born April 21,1943, in Belfry, Ky., the son of the late William Jefferson and Blanche (Kessee) Dotson. He married Karia Kay Parthemore on Feb. 12,1970, and she survives. Two daughters also survive, Paula Faye (Sean) Frew of Sidney and Joann Blanchette Dotson Persinger (Brian Smith) of Conover. He was a loving grandfather to Seana Rose Frew of Sidney, Samuel Otis Smith of Conover and Philip Eugene Persinger II and Kyle David Persinger both of Fletcher. He also is survived by siblings, Donna Sue (Robert) O'Neal of Bud, W.Va., Phylis Ann (Lee) Ellis of Cridersville, the Rev. James Larry Dotson of Troy, Carol Faye (David) Clark of Piqua and Gary Edward (Sharon) Dotson of Piqua. In addition to his parents, a sister, Wilma Jean Smith, preceded him in death. Bill was a 1961 graduate of Belfry High School, Belfry, Ky. and served a tour of duty in Vietnam while in the U.S. Army from 1966-68. He attended the First Free Will Baptist Church of Piqua and he retired in 1999 from Copeland Corporation, Sidney. Funeral services will be held at noon Monday in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street, St. Paris, with Pastor Lee Ellis of the Piqua Free Will Baptist Church presiding. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, St. Paris with military honors by the American Legion Post 120 of Urbana. Visitation will be held from 1-4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. There also will be one hour of visitation prior to the funeral service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Free Will Baptist Church of Piqua, 1500 Clark Ave., Piqua, OH 45356 or to the Adams Township EMS or Fire Dept, P.O. Box 28, Rosewood, OH 43070.
