Durr, age 89, of Christiansburg, passed away at 5:10 p.m. on Monday, June 02, 2008. He was born in Harrodsburg, KY on August 23, 1918, the son of the late Fred and Eva (Darlin) Durr. He married Alberta Marie Lambert on July 6, 1942 and she preceded him in death on August 6, 2004. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: three daughters and sons-in-law. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one sister, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Willard was preceded in death by one grandchild and one brother. Willard served briefly in the Army during WWII and was honorably discharged. He retired from Hobart Brothers in Troy where he worked as a welder. He formerly served several churches in North Carolina and Ohio as a pastor. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield St., St. Paris with Reverend Rick Clos of the Lighthouse Tabernacle, Urbana presiding. Burial will follow in Upper Honey Creek Cemetery, N. Elm Tree Road, St. Paris.
