He was born in Windsor, Colorado on April 19, 1919, the son of Godfred and Leah (Schneider) Eichman. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Grimes-Kohl Post 1031, life member of Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, member of the Clark County Historical Society, member of H.S. Kissell Lodge Free and Accepted Masons 674, member of the Faith In Christ Lutheran Church. He was employed for over 30 years by the City of Springfield Water Department as Superintendant of the Water Treatment Plant. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth (Armer) Eichman; one son, Milton (Louise) Eichman of Tipp City , Ohio; one daughter, Joy Jean (David) Maurer of Urbana, Ohio; five grandchildren, Randy Maurer, Minda Schomberg, Aaron John Obrien-Eichman, Burk Elizabeth Obrien-Eichman and Paul Eric Obrien- Eichman and five great-grandchildren; one brother, Clarence Carl Eichman of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida; one sister, Irene Eichman Gorton of Largo, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents also by two brothers. Friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m. in the JACKSON LYTLE & WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, North Limestone Street, Springfield, A Dignity Memorial Provider. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Michael Johnson officiating. Burial to follow in Terre Haute Cemetery.
