The Troy Daily News-abstract
CHRISTIANSBURG - Cathy E. Emerick, age 58, of Christiansburg, passed away at 
3:54 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, in her residence.

She was born in Troy on April 20, 1950, a daughter of David Ernest and Addie 
(Fannin) Gilliam. She married Pete Emerick (who survives) on Dec. 1, 1972, and 
together they raised three sons, two of whom survive A son, Kenneth Emerick, 
preceded her in death.

Cathy was a 1968 graduate of Graham High School. She attended the Christian 
Worship Center near Christiansburg, as well as the Church of Christ in 
Christian Union, where she and Pete formerly taught a youth Sunday school 
class. Cathy served in many area churches helping with mission work.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, in the Christian 
Worship Center, South Elm Tree Road, near Christiansburg, with Pastor Mike 
Gross assisted by Pastor Jim Fannin presiding.

Burial will follow in Smith Cemetery near Christiansburg.
