The Urbana Daily Citizen-abstract
Deborah Jean ”Debbie” (Cassell) Engle, 54, of Urbana, after a courageous 
battle, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 9:20 a.m. Sunday, December 9, 
2012 in Heartland of Urbana, where she was reunited with her husband and soul 
mate. She was born April 8, 1958 in Urbana, She attended Urbana High School 
and was one of the original employees for the Urbana Frisch’s Restaurant, 
where she worked for twelve years. She was a member of The Freewill Baptist 
Church as a youth and of the Renewed Strength Church and the Stepping Stone 
Church during her adult life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Allen Engle two weeks ago on 
November 26, 2012, paternal grandparents Edford and Monnie (Hayes) Cassell; 
maternal grandparents Gladys and Chancy Cottrill and Mildred Wood; mother- in-
law, Jean Lantz; father-in-law Robert Engle, and uncles Earl Cottrill, Walter 
Cottrill, and Ed Dingey.
Debbie always had a warm smile and kind words for everyone she met. She will 
be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 
2012 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main St., Urbana where the 
funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012. Burial 
will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana.
