He was born in Springfield, Ohio June 22, 1925, the son of William T. and Dorothy (Roddy) Errett. He was a 1944 graduate of Westville High School, Westville, Ohio. Mr. Errett was a press operator for International Harvester/Navistar for 34 years, he retired in 1990. He was an United States Army Veteran and was stationed with General George Patton's 3rd Armored Division. He was in The Battle of Bastone, The Battle of Luxenburg and was wounded during The Battle of The Bulge, which earned him the Purple Heart. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign War, a member of the Eagles and the DAV. He is survived by wife, Doris Jeane (Bishop) Errett, of North Las Vegas, Nevada; sons, David Errett, of Martinsville, Indiana and James Errett, of Cleveland, Ohio; brother, Douglas Errett, of Terre Haute, Ohio; sisters, Margie Leonard, of Lawrenceville, Ohio and Jean Sheets, of Urbana; grandsons, Christopher Errett, Robert Errett, Michael Errett and Zachary Errett; and a granddaughter, Lyndy Errett. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jackie and Paul Errett. The family will have a time of fellowship following the graveside service at the Terre Haute Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 pm at the Terre Haute Cemetery with Rev. Frank Kampel officiating. Interment to follow.
