Evans, 85, of St. Paris, passed away at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, in her residence. She was born May 7, 1921, in Urbana, to the late Clarence and Iva (Nichols) Mines. She married Herman Evans on April 13, 1941, and he survives. She also is survived by four children, Fred Dean (Janet) Evans of St. Paris, Sue Ann Geuy of Rosewood, Robert (Becky) Evans of Conover and Nancy (David) Roach of Huber Heights; 11 grandchildren, Brandon Evans, Gaylyn Diehl, Amanda Evans, Justin Evans, Michelle Bashore, Lynette Hageman, Ryan Geuy, Chris Batdorf, Jared Evans, Jennifer Vincent and Aaron Vincent; and six great-grandchildren, Alison Evans, Carter Evans, Davin Jordan, McKalia Hageman, Logan Bashore and Carmen Geuy. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Donald Evans; brother, Paul Hines; son-in-law, Tom Geuy; father-in-law, Henry Evans; mother-in-law, Ethel (Mahan) Evans; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Bellinger. Helen graduated in 1939 from Salem School in Kingscreek. She was a member of Northtowne Church of God in Sidney. She also was a member of the Gideon Auxiliary and a volunteer at Piqua Memorial Hospital and Dettmer Hospital. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Northtowne Church of God, 2008 Wapakoneta Ave., Sidney, with the Rev. Merle Laws presiding.
