Mary E. Finlay, 85, a former St. Paris resident, died on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 
2002, at the Piqua Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Champaign County Oct. 2, 
1916, the daughter of the late Charles and Dolly (McMorran) Wiant. She was 
married to Donald Finlay and he preceded her in death in 1975. She was a 
homemaker and a member of the St. Paris Baptist Church. She is survived by a 
daughter and son-in-law, Neva and James Hufford, of Casstown, and a son and 
daughter-in-law, Roger and Dianne Finlay, of Heath, Ohio, three grandchildren, 
six great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Martha Caven, of Sidney, Ohio. She 
was preceded in death by three sisters, Neva DeWeese, Susan Weller and Gertrude 
Stickley. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the SUBER 
FUNERAL HOME, in Fletcher, in charge of Rev. Dr. James VanZile, pastor of the 
St. Paris Baptist Church. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, St. Paris.
