PARIS A Troy woman became Champaign County's third traffic fatality of the year Sunday when the car she was driving went out of control on Cemetery Road, north of St. Paris, left the road and smashed into a tree. Miss Mildred Lucille Frank, 43, of 301-1/2 Water St., Troy, died in Piqua Memorial Hospital at 11:50 a.m. Sunday of injuries suffered in the 9:40 a.m. mishap. The victim reportedly suffered a severed left leg, multiple fractures, lacerations of the face, arms and hands, internal injuries and shock. Highway Patrolmen from the Springfield post said the fatal one car accident occurred two miles north of Ward Road on Cemetery Road, about five miles north of St. Paris, near Millerstown, while Miss Frank was en route to her mother's home for Mother's Day. Her mother was identified as Mrs. Marie Frank, of St. Paris route two, in the Millerstown area. The Baker Funeral Home ambulance was summoned to transport the victim to the Piqua hospital, where she died two hours later in the operating room. Miss Frank, a telephone operator in Troy for the last 21 years, was alone at the time of the accident. Her 1957 model car was completely demolished. She was born in Adams Township in this county, March 17, 1920, the daughter of Floyd and Marie Pine Frank, and was a graduate of Rosewood Schools. Her father preceded her in death Jan. 8, 1948. Survivors in addition to her mother are two brothers, Pershing, of Bellefontaine, and Howard, St. Paris; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Jean Ditmer, of Troy, and Mrs. Anna Jane Welty, Christiansburg; a niece and four nephews. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Harry Sinks, of Harrison, O., in the Baker Funeral Home, St. Paris, at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Friends may call at the funeral home from Tuesday morning until the time of services. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery.
