Being raised near St Paris, he was well known and highly thought of in this community. He was married to Miss Verity, the only daughter of the ME Pastor, who years ago served the charge south of town. After his father and mother died, he bought a farm at Yellow Springs but later went to California. He brought suit against his brother for $20,000 damages for alienating the affections of his wife. Some time ago, he had difficulty with a doctor in Cincinnati to whom he threatened bodily harm. He was arrested and sent to the Dayton workhouse. This made him despondent and to add to his terror of mind, his wife sought a divorce. His body was brought here Friday and taken to Newson Chapel for burial. He leaves a wife and six children, though only 43 years old.
