Littleton & Rue Funeral Home
CLINTON G. GEARHART, 88, of Springfield, died Saturday, September 8, 2001, in 
Community Hospital. He was born May 30, 1913, in Lena, Ohio, the son of George 
E. and Edna V. (Gabriel) Gearhart. 

He attended the First Christian Church and was a Life Member of Grimes-Kohl 
Post #1031 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served his country during World War II 
in the United States Army and was retired from Robbins and Myers after 34 
years of service. He is survived by his second wife of 26 years, Dorothy 
(Shepard) Gearhart; daughter Tamara Ebersole of Knightsen, California; step-
daughter and her husband Elaine and William Klausing of Columbus Grove, Ohio; 
son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Carol Gearhart of Atlanta, Georgia; step-
sons Robert Shepard of Lexington, Kentucky and Russell and Linda Shepard of 
Bellefontaine, Ohio; sister Helen McGee of Springfield; 13 grandchildren; 11 
great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 
his parents; first wife Vera Taylor (Johnson) in 1972; sister, Phyllis Armer 
and a brother Emery Gearhart. 
LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, Springfield. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 
2:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Craig Grammer of First Christian 
Church officiating. Burial will be in Terre Haute Cemetery
