The Urbana Daily Citizen
Earl Ellsworth GENTIS, 80, a resident of the Earle Hotel, died at 1 a.m. 
Wednesday in Mercy Hospital following several years of failing health. He had 
been a patient in the hospital since Saturday. Mr Gentis was an employee of 
the Buffalo-Springfield Co for 37 years prior to his retirement in 1957. He 
was born Nov 12, 1879 in Champaign County, the son of David and Jenny (WOLFE) 
GENTIS and had resided in Springfield 60 years. There are no known immediate 
survivors. His body was taken to the Jackson Lytle funeral home.
