Jacob Geron, 68, widely known retired farmer of 823 S Main St, Urbana, died at 
12:05 a.m. Tuesday in Springfield City Hospital where he had been a patient 
for several weeks suffering from heart disease. A native of Clark County, Mr 
Geron had spent most of his life in the Urbana community as a farmer, and had 
been a resident of Urbana for the last 23 years. He was a member of the Junior 
Order of United American Mechanics and of the Urbana Lutheran Church. 
Surviving are his widow, Martha; a son, A Everett Geron of Springfield; a 
brother, Phillip Geron, Springfield; a sister, Mrs Samuel Karg of Springfield, 
Route 3, and one grandson. The body was removed to the Humphrey funeral home 
where it will remain for services at 2 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev Edward 
Driscoll of the Urbana Lutheran Church officiating, Burial will be in Oak Dale 
Cemetery.
