Goddard, 88, of Johnstown, passed away April 1,2011 at Arbutus Park Manor Born January 10,1923 in Oscoda, Mich., she was the daughter of John H. and Ora (Backus) Killmaster. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Edwin E. Goddard who passed away on May 18, 2010. She is survived by daughter, Lynne Ann wife of Dean Wigfield of Hancock, MD and son James Edwin and wife Grade of Portland, Ore. Also survived by grandchildren: Reilly James and Annelise Lorraine Goddard. Sister of Jacqueline B. Stanley of Indian River, Mich; Ora Thomas Reed of Apple Valley, Cal; and John H. Killmaster of Middleton, Idaho. Ruth was an active member of St. David's Lutheran Church in Davidsville. Ruth, a graduate of Michigan State University, was a former home economics teacher. She was a long standing leader in the Somerset County 4-H Program and a Girl Scouts and a Cub Scouts leader. She enjoyed sewing, playing bridge, travel, and doing arts and crafts. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc, Davidsville. Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St David's Lutheran Church in Davidsville, Pastor Jeffery Bassette, officiating. Graveside service to follow on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in Terre Haute Cemetery, Terre Haute, Ohio with Rev. Frank Kampel officiating. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Ruth's memory to the Somerset County 4-H Development Fund, 6024 Glades Pike, Suite 101, Somerset, PA 15501.
