Helen C. (Carney) Goodwin, 84, of Urbana, Ohio passed away Sunday, October 28, 
2007 in Mercy Medical Center Springfield.

She was born August 17, 1923 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Francis and 
Margaret (Ferguson) Carney. Helen married Richard A. Goodwin, Sr. on February 
26, 1942.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union of Urbana. Helen 
was an avid bowler, a loyal Reds fan, a collector of Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls 
and a chocolate fanatic.

She is survived by her daughters, Helen Sandra Borba of Indian Lake and Janice 
Jurich of Urbana and her son Richard Allen Goodwin, Jr. of Navarro, FL, She 
was a loving and caring grandmother to her grandchildren Ritchie Goodwin, 
Andrew Borba, Christopher (Marci) Borba, Kathryn Jurich, Adam Jurich, Brandi 
(Scott) Grimes and Charles Gordon Borba and a great grandson Sal. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard A. Goodwin, 
Sr.; sister, Janice Margaret Dearden, and a brother, F. Melvin Carney.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2007 in 
the Chapel at Oakdale Cemetery with Rev. Clifford Kissenger officiating. 
Services are entrusted to the Vernon Funeral Home, Urbana.
