Daniel “Danny” Haddix, 73, of Lakeview, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009, in 
Lima Memorial Health System, Lima. 
He was born in Urbana on Nov. 4, 1935, a son of the late Hobart and Jane 
Shockey Haddix. He also was preceded in death by a brother, David Haddix; and 
stepdaughter, Nicole Dunn. 
Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Sharon; daughter, Dana Royse of 
Springfield; son, Kris Haddix of Springfield; three grandchildren, Jeremy, 
Jenna and James Royse; two great-grandchildren; brother, Charles (Sophie) 
Haddix of Urbana, and several nieces and nephews. 
He retired from Columbia Gas in 1993 after 35 years and often used his 
mechanical ability to help family friends and neighbors. 
A member of the Indian Lake Eagles and Moose Lodge, he was an avid NASCAR fan 
and enjoyed boating with family. 
Pastor Peter Bellini and lay speaker Jeff Cain officiate a funeral at 11 a.m. 
Saturday at Vernon Funeral Home, Urbana, where calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. 
Friday. Burial is in Terre Haute Cemetery.
