ST. PARIS - Donald Halterman, 77, of St. Paris, passed away in his residence 
Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010.
Donald was bom May 12, 1933, in Champaign County, a son of the late Harley and 
Hazel (Sarver) Halterman.'
Donald is survived by a sister in-law, Dorothy Halterman of Urbana; two 
nieces, Connie Wanamaker of Columbus and Marsha Dugdale of Centerville; and 
two great nephews, Drew and Aaron Dugdale.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene 
Halterman.
Donald was a 1952 graduate of Johnson-St. Paris High School. He served in the 
U.S. Army. When he returned from the Army he graduated from Wittenberg 
University with a degree in education and he taught in the Johnstown, Urbana 
and Troy school districts. He formerly attended Covenant Lutheran Church, St. 
Paris.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in Spring Grove 
Cemetery, North Heck Hill Road, St. Paris, with the Rev. Isabelle Steele of 
the Covenant Lutheran Church presiding.
 
Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, St. Paris, is serving the family.
