News Death Notice

HART, Betty L. Age 71, of Saint Paris passed away at 5:50 a.m. on Thursday, 
July 2, 2009 in Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton. She was born on August 30, 1937 
in Charleston, W.VA, a daughter of the late Charles and Audrey (Schultz) 
Johnson. She married Melvin Hart on February 24, 1959 and he survives. 
Together they raised four children: Roger (Michelle) Hart, Jerry Hart, Michele 
Vogt, all of St. Paris, and Kathy (Jeff) Olsen of Jamestown, NY. She was a 
loving grandmother to five grandchildren: Angie Hart, Nathan Hart (and fiance 
Brittany Hanes), Matthew Hart, Christopher Hart all of St. Paris, Dana 
Shelters of Jamestown, NY; and one great granddaughter, Alexis Hart of St. 
Paris. She is also survived by 13 brothers and sisters, and many nieces and 
nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother 
and a sister. Betty was a homemaker all of her life. She was a member of the 
St. Paris First Church of God. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 
10:30 a.m. in the First Church of God, 122 E. Walnut Street, Saint Paris, with 
Pastors Larry Messick and Dick Keeran presiding. Burial will follow in 
Evergreen Cemetery, St. Paris. Visitation for family and friends will be held 
on Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 
S. Springfield Street, St. Paris, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to 
the Cancer Association of Champaign County, P.O. Box 38125, Urbana, Ohio 
43078. Envelopes will be available in the funeral home
