The Urbana Daily Citizen-abstract
Esther Ruby (Meiners) Hayes, 87, of West Liberty, passed away Monday, June 6, 
2011 in Vancrest of Urbana.

She was born April 20, 1924 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of Hilda 
(Verburg) and Edwin Meiners.

Esther worked for a number of years as an executive secretary. 

She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Elkhart, IN and later the New 
Life Baptist Church in Franklin, IN. She taught 2 & 3 year old Sunday School 
classes for many years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, needle work, cooking 
and spending time with her family.
Esther is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Edwin Meiners, Jr., 
her sister, Carrie (Meiners) Bunch and several precious babies she had yet to 
meet.


Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery.
