The Urbana Daily Citizen
HULLINGER, Almeda M. 100, of Terre Haute, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 
2010 in Mercy McAuley Center, Urbana Ohio. 

She was born April 4, 1910 in Champaign County, Ohio the daughter of Miles W. 
and Mary (Davis) Shaffer. 
She was a graduate of Westville High School and was employed by Springfield 
Newspapers prior to her marriage to Myron Hullinger in 1936. 
They operated a dairy farm in Clark County, Ohio for many years. 
She was a lifetime member of Terre Haute United Methodist Church, where she 
served in local and district offices and taught in the Sunday school many 
years. 
She was a member of Terre Haute and Westville School Alumni Associations and 
former member of the Terre Haute Grange.

She leaves three daughters and spouses, Martha (Talmadge) Algren of New 
Carlisle, Ohio, Miriam (Ralph) Shaffer of Urbana, Ohio, and Mary (Landon) 
Scott of Springfield, Ohio; four granddaughters, Lana Ankenbauer of 
Richardson, Texas, Lora Connelly of Dacula, Georgia, Kimberly (Mark Derwent) 
Scott of Ada, Michigan and Tamara Scott of West Carrollton, Ohio; four 
grandsons, Brent (Martha) Laughman of Urbana, Ohio, Michael (Linda) Laughman 
of Miamisburg, Ohio, Larson (Kristie) Algren of New Carlisle and Richard Scott 
of Bellebrook; eight great grandchildren, Kristian and Matthew Ankenbauer, 
Lisa, Lara and Brian Connelly, Brent Lee Laughman, and Mary and Hannah 
Derwent. Also surviving are nieces Mary Andrus, Vivian Brelsford, Janet 
Insley, Ruth Kirby, Darlene Rhodes and Anna Toole; nephews Dan Circle, Orval 
Rice, Donald Shaffer and Melvin Shaffer. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, her parents, a twin 
brother, a daughter, three sisters and five brothers. 

Arrangements are being handled by WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. In 
accordance with her wishes, there will be no calling hours. 

Burial will be in the Terre Haute Cemetery with private graveside services at 
the convenience of the family.
