George T. Johnson, 71, of Troy, passed away at 10:50 a.m. Friday, June 12, 
Hewas born Oct. 2, 1937, in Beattyville, Ky., a son of the late Robert and 
Sarah Catherine (Gilbert) Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, 
Sue. He also is survived by a son, Robert Johnson and a daughter, Martha 
Johnson, both of Franklin; two grandchildren; and a brother, Robert (Jean) 
Johnson of Troy.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, George 
T. "Butch" Johnson Jr.; one brother; and three sisters.
George was retired from Lewis and Michael of Dayton.
Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday in the Atkins-Shively Funeral 
Home, 216 S. Springfield St., St. Paris, with Pastor Bonita Wood of the Tipp 
City United Methodist Church presiding. Burial will follow in Spring Grove 
Cemetery, North Heck Hill Road, St. Paris.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 10 a.m. to noon, prior to the 
funeral, in the funeral home
