Funeral HOne
Samuel “Sam” Karg, Sr., 76 of Urbana died at 12:25 A.M. Thursday, July 5, 2012 
in Mercy Memorial Hospital, Urbana. He was born April 21, 1936 in Clark 
County, a son of Jacob Karg, Sr. and Lillian (Donohue) Karg.
Sam worked at Rex Ponn , Brandeberry Chrysler Plymouth and was owner of Sam’s 
Auto Repair, where he retired. He enjoyed spending time at car shows, fixing 
up cars and trading, camping, fishing, the outdoors, flea markets, garage 
sales, music, playing and collecting guitars, banjos and accordions and loved 
his dogs and cats.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Barbara (Neely) Karg whom he married 
on September 4, 1976, sons, Samuel Karg, Jr. and his wife Anna, Rick Lee Karg 
and his wife Carla and Mike Karg and his wife Becky all of Urbana, step 
daughter, Sandy McDavid and her husband Brad of Urbana, grandchildren, Charity 
Grim, Brandon Karg, Jackie Rutherford and her husband John, Ricky Karg, Jr., 
Tonya Karg, Jason Karg, Josh Karg and his wife Ashley, Eric Karg, Justin Karg 
and his wife Sara, Mary McDavid, William McDavid, several great grandchildren, 
sister, Glenna Umbenhauer, of Springfield, sisters-in-law, Irene Bates, Donna 
Krisko and Jane Neely, former daughter-in-law, Lori Karg Allen, the mother of 
his sons, Doris (Herb) Griffith, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Randy, brother, Jacob, sisters, 
Esther Moore, Betty Watkins and Mary Arnold, great grandchild, Cassie Karg, 
brothers-in-law, Harry Umbenhauer and Mark Moore and several nieces and nephew
The family will receive friends 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 7, 2012 
in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main Street, Urbana where funeral 
services will be held at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Michael L. Poole, Jr. 
officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana.
