Karnehm, 73, of 1841 Britton Drive, Piqua, died at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, in his residence. He was born Feb. 28, 1936, in Miami County, to the late Howard and Elizabeth (Henderson) Karnehm. He married Carolyn Hobbs on April 1, 1971, in Winchester, Ind.; and she survives Other survivors include two sons, Nick (Becky) Karnehm of Troy and Scott (Tammy) Karnehm of Piqua; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 12 step- great grandchildren; a sister, Norma (Roger) Colby of Covington; and a godchild, Amy Tamplin of Gulfport, Miss. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Mr. Karnehm graduated from Staunton Schools and retired in 2001 as the maintenance supervisor for Brown Bridge Company following 36 years of service. He had been an active member of the Favorite Hill Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school. He enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, woodworking and watching football. A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home, with the Revs. Gilbert K. and Phyllis Welbaum officiating. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
