Born November 15, 1932, Roger was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Alice Karns; brother, Kenneth Karns; father-in-law, Orville Rose and his best friend, Ben Burcham. He is survived by his dear wife, Eloise Karns of Saint Paris; his sister, Maxine Leathley (and Elwood) of New Carlisle; sister-in-law, Martha Karns of Troy; his children, Terry Cosby (and Roy) of South Charleston, Dennis Karns of Saint Paris, Marcia Callicoat (and Larry) of Saint Paris. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jennifer Jarvis of South Charleston, Sarah Legge (and Justin) of New Carlisle, Jason, Brian, and Alisha Karns all of Saint Paris, Danielle, Zack, and Tyler Callicoat all of Saint Paris, and great grandson, Justin Legge Jr. of New Carlisle, as well as mother-in-law, Verna Rose of Springfield and dear friend, Rae Burcham of New Carlisle. Roger attended the St. Paris Church of the Nazarene. He loved to hunt and enjoyed traveling by RV yearly with his wife and friends to the Western United States where they spent most of their time camping in Arizona. Roger loved his friends and family greatly and by those who knew and loved him, he will be greatly missed. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2006 at Rosedale Cemetery with Rev. Lloyd McClurg and Rev. William Blaine presiding. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6–8 p.m. on Friday March 10, 2006 in the ATKINS-SHIVELY FUNERAL HOME, 216 South Springfield Street, Saint Paris, Ohio.
