The Urbana Daily Citizen-abstract
Carol Jeanette "Jean" Kauffman, 71, of DeGraff, and formerly of Troy, passed 
away at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at the Kettering Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 5, 1939, in Jacksonville, Fla., to the late Ellis George and 
Hazel Marie (Teuton) Wright.

She is survived by her three daughters and two sons; 15 grandchildren; seven 
great-grandchildren; twin sister, 

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her first husband, 
Oscar Hugh Russell on Dec. 15, 1991; her second husband, Vernon Kauffman on 
Feb. 14, 2010; grandson, David Chrisman; two brothers.

She was a member of Troy Christian Church. Jean retired from Arc Abrasives in 
Troy after 18 years of service. She enjoyed camping and baking, with one of 
her specialties being the baking of pumpkin bread for family and friends 
during the holidays.

There will be a funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8, at Fisher-Cheney 
Funeral Home, Troy with Chris Heiss officiating. The visitation will be from 5-
8 p.m. at the funeral home Thursday, Oct. 7. Interment will be in Concord 
Cemetery, Champaign Co
