David L. Kreitzer Sr. passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010. He was born 
December 20, 1929 in Urbana, Ohio.

He is survived by his spouse of 37 years, Mary Kreitzer and the following 
children: son David L. Kreitzer, Jr. (Debra), son Michael Caskey, daughter 
Terena Fugate (Barry), daughter Tonya Malpass (Alton), daughter Beverly 
Shelton and Barbara Funderburg, many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his sons Raymond Kreitzer and Doug Kreitzer.
David served in the United States Navy on a battleship during WWII. He was an 
electrician at Wright Patterson Air Force Base until 1975 when he retired. He 
was the Chief of Police in Tremont City/Germantown until 1995 and served on 
the Tremont City Fire Department. He was a licensed realtor as well as an 
auctioneer and many came to know his voice and enjoyed listening to him call.
David was a member of the Lions Club and K of P’s. He loved to golf and bowl, 
but mostly he loved to tell a story or joke. T
hose who were closest to David knew that he wore many hats. He was a great 
teacher and would always take the time to help out where he could for his 
family and friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a 
loving husband to Mary and spent the majority of his time by her side doing 
puzzles together or just taking a drive. He enjoyed life and lived it to the 
fullest. He will be missed by so many.
Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Urbana Mercy Hospital. I could not 
have asked for anything more including the care and attention they showed the 
whole family.
Visitation will be held from 4:00PM until 8:00PM Friday in the JONES-KENNEY-
ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM Saturday in the 
Terre Haute Methodist Church with Pastor Frank Kempel officiating. Additional 
visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services in the church. 
Burial, with Military Honors will be in Terre Haute Cemetery. In lieu of 
flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Terre Haute Methodist 
Church.
