The Urbana Daily Citizen abstract
Charlotte Long, age 71, of Urbana passed away at 2:47 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 
2013 in her residence.
Born on Sept. 12, 1941 in St. Paris, she was a daughter of the late Henry and 
Emma (Runkle) Meeker. She married Carl Richard (Butch) Long on Dec. 2, 1978, 
and he preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1995.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sister, 
Linda Crosley.
She was a 1959 graduate of Graham High School and retired from Honeywell 
Grimes after 30 years. Charlotte was a member of the Honeywell Grimes Quarter 
Century Club and Urbana Senior Citizens. She was a volunteer at the Cancer 
Association of Champaign County in the Mercy Memorial Hospital and McAuley 
Center.
The family would like to thank Community Mercy Hospice for the loving care 
that they have shown to their family and to Charlotte.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the 
Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield St., St. Paris, OH 43072, with 
Rev. Jim Chess presiding. Burial will follow in the Rosedale Cemetery.
