Mason, 63, of St. Paris, entered the church triumphant at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, in The Convalarium, Dublin. She was born on Oct. 28,1943, in Charlotte, N.C., the daughter of the late Ernest and Ruth (Kuisel) Norenberg. Her husband, Edward J. Mason, whom she married on June 23,1989, survives. Two daughters and sons-in-law, J. Heidi and Eric Hess of Dublin and Heather and Robert Townsend of St. Paris also survive. Jackie was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren, Courtney and Annie Hess of Dublin and Eli and Abbie Townsend of St. Paris. In addition to her parents, a sister, JoAnn Johnson, preceded Jackie in death. A 1961 graduate of Grayling High School, Grayling, Mich., Jackie went on to earn a bachelor of arts in music from Central Michigan University. Jackie was a devoted musician. She served as the organist, and was the former music director for Covenant Lutheran Church. She taught music for 31 years at the elementary level, retiring in 2000. Some of those years were spent in North Canton, but most were spent in the Graham School District where she directed many elementary school productions. She also gave private piano lessons to many throughout the years. Jackie's life will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Covenant Lutheran Church, St. Paris, with church pastor the Rev. Isabelle Steele and the Rev. Craig Fourman of the Abiding Christ Lutheran Church of Fairborn officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, St. Paris. Visitation for family and friends will be from 1-6 p.m. Saturday in the Atkins- Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield St., St. Paris.
