The Urbana Daily Citizen
Alta McAlister, 90, of Urbana, died at 1:17 a.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2006 
in the Wellington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Urbana. She was born 
October 2, 1916 a daughter of William and Martha Ellen (Smith) Binegar.



Alta was a member of the Westville United Methodist Church.



She is survived by her children, George Thomas (Shirley) McAlister Jr. of 
Ostrander and Ronald Eugene (Doris) McAlister of Urbana; grandchildren, Terry 
Knox, Cynthia Cushman, Randy Knox, Harley Joe Knox, Karen Powell, Mike 
McAlister and Rick McAlister; eleven great-grandchildren as well as numerous 
nieces and nephews.



Preceded in death by her parents; husband, George T. McAlister, Sr. in 1981; 
daughter, Shirley Ann Knox and thirteen siblings.



Family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2006 in the 
WALTER-SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL HOME, Urbana where funeral services will be held at 
10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2006 with Rev. Alice Kay Hoover officiating. 
Burial will follow in Nettle Creek Cemetery.



Casket bearers will be Terry, Randy and Joe Knox, Mike and Rick McAlister and 
Kyle Yohey.



The family requests that contributions be made to the Westville United 
Methodist Church, 76 N. St. Rt. 560 P.O. Box 117, Westville, OH 43083
