He was born in Jamestown on Jan. 29, 1932, to the late Oliver and Elma Workman McCall. He also was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Dale McCall; a grandson, Jacob Dale McCall; a brother, Wayne McCall; and a half-brother, Oliver McCall Jr. A wonderful husband, father, brother, and grandfather, he is survived by his wife Anna Lee (Combs) McCall; sons, Jeffrey (Diana) McCall, Jerry (Analyn) McCall; stepdaughter, Angie (Dale) Lavery; stepson, Robert (Penny) Spencer; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill (Ann) McCall; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and longtime friends, Frank and Linda Edwards and Don and Shelly Davis. He was retired after 28 years of service at Cooper Cameron in Springfield. Don enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and was an avid golfer who could give anyone a run for their money. He loved spending time out on his deck, enjoying a glass of his sweet homemade wine with family and friends. For 23 years, Don and Anna escaped the cold Ohio winters to spend the season in Raymondville, Texas, where golfing with friends was the priority of the day. He was a member of Mad River 161 F&AM. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today, followed by a Masonic service at the Ingram Funeral Home, 975 N. Maple St., Marysville, where the Rev. David Murray officiates a funeral at noon Tuesday, with a visitation one hour prior. Interment is in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana.
