SPRINGFIELD -- Martha J. "Marty" McCulla, 81, of 3B, Apprentice Drive, Masonic 
Retirement Village, Springfield, Ohio, formerly of Greenville, Ohio, passed 
away on Friday, March 18, 2005, at 7:45 a.m. in the Eastern Star Wing of the 
Ohio Masonic Home. 

She was born Sept. 24, 1923, in St. Paris, Ohio, the daughter of the late 
Wendell and Eula (Sturm) Kite. Marty was a 1941 graduate of St. Paris High 
School and attended Urbana Junior College. 

She enjoyed reading, golfing and cooking for her family. Formerly, Marty 
dedicated much of her time as a volunteer at the Wayne Hospital in Greenville. 

On July 17, 1943, Marty married Charles McCulla. He survives along with a son, 
Timothy McCulla of Troy; a daughter, Cynthia J. (Jim) Snipes of Troy; grandson 
J. David (Cindy) Snipes of Kettering; three granddaughters, Carol J. Hockett 
of Troy, Amy K. McCulla of Capetown, South Africa, and Colleen R. McCulla of 
Cleveland; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Ann Stockton and Emma 
Lou Rust, both of St. Paris; and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her brother, Reginald Kite. 

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Richeson-Wickham and 
Atkins Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield St., St. Paris. Graveside funeral 
services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery in St. Paris, with 
the Rev. Elwood Stuart of Greenville officiating.
