He was born in Champaign County on June 1, 1919, a son of the late George and Lulu Brooks McIntire. A 1937 graduate of Rosewood High School, he served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a former employee of Kaffenbarger Welding, New Carlisle. Survivors include one son, Mark McIntire of Lewistown; two sisters, Melva Curl of Sidney and Zelda Peters of Shippensburg, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding him in death were one brother, Woodrow McIntire; and two sisters, Wanna Taylor and Georgia McIntire. Graveside service is at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Rosedale Cemetery along north State Route 235, near Carysville, with Pastor Steve Daniels of the Railroad Street Church of God officiating. No visitation is planned.
