Tuesday, June 30, 2009 in Springfield Regional Medical Center Fountain Campus. He was born January 2, 1939 in Champaign County a son of William and Mildred (Nichols) McKeever. James was a member of Westville United Methodist Church, graduated from Westville High School in 1957, retired from Fox River Paper Company after 40 years of service, was active in the Emmaus Community and enjoyed mushroom hunting. His mission was chopping and selling wood, donating the proceeds to his church. Survivors include his wife, Barbara (McConnell) McKeever, daughter Traci Torlina of Columbus, son, Tony Torlina and his wife Stephanie of Baltimore, MD, grandchildren, Brittany Lantz and her husband Nathan of Urbana, Chandler Black of AR, and Asher Torlina of Baltimore, MD, great grandchildren, Carmine and Camri Lantz of Urbana, sister, Della Brakefield of KY, sisters-in- law, Janice McKeever of Urbana and Sue Gower and her husband John of Hilltop Lake, TX, brothers, Jerry McKeever and his wife Joyce of Westville, brothers- in-law, Michael McConnell and his wife Kathy of Westchester, OH and John McConnell and his wife June of Springfield, special friends, Max Eaton and Archie Glidden of Urbana and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a son, James Brooks McKeever, his parents, and a brother, John McKeever. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 3, 2009 in the Westville United Methodist Church, 76 N. SR 560, Westville, OH with Rev. Earl McCall officiating. The family is being served by the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main Street, Urbana.
